About Us
Wulguru United Football Club is a proud community-based, non-profit soccer club located in Townsville, Queensland, offering teams for ages 5 through to 70.
Founded in 1967, our club has a long and proud history of fostering a love of football and community spirit. Nestled on Edison Street, Wulguru, our grounds provide a relaxed and welcoming atmosphere, surrounded by shady trees and refreshed by cool coastal breezes — the perfect setting for players and families alike.

Mission Statement
WUFC aims to build long-term community relationships and operate a club that provides a clear, registered structure for anyone wishing to play football, while ensuring a safe, friendly and enjoyable environment for all activities. The club strives to remain financially stable and capable of meeting its obligations in both normal circumstances and times of adversity. It seeks to align with the structures and development principles of Football Queensland, and to be administered, operated and maintained effectively for the benefit of its members. The Club is committed to providing strong pathways and opportunities for players, coaches, managers and all participants.
To uphold this mission, the club and its committee members will always act in the best interests of the organisation, recognising that their roles exist solely to serve the club. They will value the people within the club as its most important assets, declare and appropriately manage any conflicts of interest, and act responsibly in the interests of the wider community and environment. They will also respect and appreciate the experience and knowledge of fellow committee members and all those associated with the club.
Club Philosophy
The committee promotes a philosophy designed to best support the achievement of the club’s mission, recognising that WUFC is made up of many interconnected groups. These include players and parents, coaches and managers who guide player development, sponsors, members, volunteers, committee representatives, supporters, the wider community, suppliers, and the club entity itself. Together, these groups form the foundation of the club’s identity and success.
The club looks after its members by:
-
Providing and maintaining club facilities;
-
Administering and performing tasks and costs associated with running a non-for-profit club;
-
Ensuring that roles within the club are clear and transparent through documentation, position descriptions and agreements where applicable;
-

-
Maintaining fairness and equality amongst the committee and all club members;
-
Minimising the cost associated with members using and registering with the club by maintaining sponsorships and other income streams to the club;

-
Continue to operate under a constitution and Committee structure and be not-for-profit;
-
Continue to operate the club in Wulguru Park from the existing club house;
-
Have registrations and teams for all levels and grades of players from juniors (U5) to Seniors (premier league and reserve grades) in both men’s and women’s leagues; and
-
Have adequately qualified coaches across all playing grades so that the right level of mentoring and guidance is being provided where applicable to sustain all player levels across the club (competitive, non-competitive, FQPL and community leagues).
